The Little Black Dress

Hey y’all! Today we’re talking the ‘Little Black Dress!’ The little black dress aka the LBD has become a staple in women’s wardrobe since Coco Chanel published the image of a simple black dress and a string of pearls in an issue of Vogue in 1926. It’s now known as the uniform for social occasions. A night out on the town: night clubs, restaurants, concerts, parties: we wear black. The cut and style of the LBD has evolved over the years as most women opt for minis, but midi length has reemerged as a popular cut for after five affairs.

A-line dresses are also a very flattering and versatile fit for taking a LBD from work to after five. Since most women opt to wearing black when hitting the town many retailers have a LBD section dedicated to providing selections for nearly every event imaginable. So getting an idea of what to wear on a special occasion isn’t the difficult part–it’s narrowing down the selection!

If you’re planning a night out and need some help narrowing down your selection, here are a few picks from Lulu’s for inspiration 🙂
